Why We Are Called Agape Hood

The designation Agape Hood embodies both our mission and geographic location. Agape, a Greek term utilized in Scripture, denotes unconditional love – the profound love God has demonstrated through Jesus Christ and the selfless love He commands us to exhibit toward one another. In John 13:35, Jesus declared, “By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” This verse serves as the foundation of our identity as a church.

Hood anchors us within our military community at Fort Hood. We firmly believe that Christ has positioned us here to serve as a beacon and establish a reproducible community distinguished by profound, sacrificial love.
